RICK W. MAUPIN
Rick W. Maupin is a member of the Council of Twelve Apostles, the lead
missionary quorum of the Community of Christ. He is assigned to the Caribbean,
Mexico, and Texas Mission Field, which includes the Caribbean Mission Center,
Coastal Bend USA Mission Center, Dominican Republic Mission Center, Heart of
Texas USA Mission Center, and Mexico-Texas (Mexico/USA) Mission Center; with
responsibilities for Hispanic Ministries.
Ordained an apostle at the 2005 World Conference, Maupin has been a full-time
minister since 1993. His previous assignments have included the Latin
American/Caribbean Mission Field, the Africa Field, Leadership Development,
president Heart of Texas USA Mission Center, the regional administrator of the
Southwest Region, and the president of Central Missouri Stake.
Prior to accepting full-time ministerial responsibilities, Rick was a junior
high school teacher in the Blue Springs, Missouri, R-4 School District for seven
years. Before that he worked eleven years for Armco Steel Inc., Kansas City
plant, as a millwright.
Rick has served the church as a pastor, stake missionary commissioner,
director of youth and family camps, on the stake high council, and as counselor
to the stake president.
A native of the Holden, Missouri, area, Maupin attended Central Missouri State
University, Warrensburg, where he received a bachelor of science degree in
education in 1986. In 1993, he received a master of arts in secondary school
administration from Central Missouri State University. He also holds a master of
arts in religion from Park College, Parkville, Missouri.
Rick is married to Diane Maupin. They have three children, Laura, Christi,
and Caleb.
