RONALD D. HARMON JR.

Ronald D. Harmon Jr. is a member of the Council of Twelve Apostles, the lead
missionary quorum of the Community of Christ. He is assigned to the East Central
USA Mission Field, which includes Bountiful USA Mission Center, Brush Creek USA
Mission Center, Cedar Valley-Nauvoo USA Mission Center, Chicago USA Mission
Center, Eastern Great Lakes USA Mission Center, Gateway USA Mission Center,
Kentucky-Indiana USA Mission Center, and Western Ohio Mission Center. He is also
responsible for Youth Ministry, including SPECTACULAR and the International
Youth Forum (IYF).
Ron was ordained an apostle in June 2005. His previous assignment was the
East Central USA Mission Field and Director of Leadership Development
Ministries, SPECTACULAR and IYF, and Urban Ministries. A full-time minister
since 2004, Ron previously served as president for the Kentucky–Indiana USA
Mission Center.
Prior to his full-time service for the church, Ron served in several
executive human resources/operations positions in healthcare, consulting,
financial services, and with Graceland University as vice president for
Administrative Services.
Ron attended Graceland University for one year then transferred to Bowling
Green State University where he received a bachelor of science degree in
business administration. He also has a master of arts degree in organizational
management from the University of Phoenix. In addition, he has pursued advanced
studies in leadership and management through Bellarmine University and Covey
Leadership Center. Ron is currently pursuing studies through the Community of
Christ Seminary.
Ron has served in various congregational, district, and stake leadership
offices during his time as a lay minister including pastor, district stewardship
commissioner, youth camp director, and counselor to district and stake
presidents/financial officers.
Ron and his wife Barb live in Indiana. They have three children, Katie,
Daniel, and Lindsay.
